Meet Gabrial McNair - The Composer (and the trombonist)

Why only play drums, only play guitar, only play trombone, only play keyboards, only be in a hugely successful ska-pop band, only found an independent rock band, only score films, or only score television programs, when you could do it all and be Gabrial McNair? Shall he now add “tour with a 20-year-old American Gothic band” to the list? Yes, please.
The rock band that chiefly vies for McNair’s precious time is Oslo (pictured above, McNair at left). Their second record, The Rise and Fall of Love and Hate, was released last year.
Lastly, let me not neglect the fact that Gabrial McNair loves Moog, which suggests that he may fit right in with the Smashing Pumpkins.

I’ve seen Oslo play up here in Seattle, these guys are all great musicians!!! Now if the Pumpkins would only come to Seattle…

Wow. This guy has a pretty impressive resume. I, too (like Chris) went through a ska/punk phase at one point in my life and I can say with confidence that I own about half the albums this guy plays on. Goldfinger? Check. Toots and the Maytals? Check. No Doubt and Green Day? Double check.

i’m in columbus today, visiting from toronto. My g/f was at work so i skateboarded all over downtown to see if i could spot Billy.. which i didn’t. But i did see Garbrial go to an place called hotoy or hot oy or ho toy… it was an asian restaurant… being a stalker… i stayed in a few block radius of there and later saw him go to the westin…. no billy… but there always a chance in cleveland or toronto (yeah, going to three shows)
anyone actually see billy in columbus? if so, JEALOUS
