HU Podcast #27: Sunshine, Crosses, and a Casino
November 10th, 2008 by christags: podcast, tour
This week I once again sat down with one member of the usual podcast panel to talk about the 20th anniversary tour. This week, Jill was nice enough to come on the show and give her impressions of three Smashing Pumpkins shows in three days - the New York Black Sunshine/White Crosses dates and the Atlantic City concert. Again in the interest of timeliness I did no editing this week, but never fear we should be getting back to our regular schedule very soon, hopefully with a discussion on If All Goes Wrong.

yes, great podcast..
Even if I wasn’t there I totally agree with Jill..
the shows here in europe, early this year, left me with the same feelings, instead of “we only come out at night” and “HOTS” we had “my blue heaven & lily” (well at least without kazoos at the time^^) to kill the crowd excitement, and the infinite “cashcarstar-metal-cover-jam & I don’t mind” as an encore, which made you leave the concert with a strange feeling when instead was an amazing gig..
I mean: listening back to the recordings of these shows, it make you really appreciate how good the show was (and it really was awesome), but when you were there, after the concert, you just can’t help to feel a bit .. shocked-bitter
but again I guess that’s their (brave) purpose in building such setlists in these ‘era’,
and so, afterall, I’m glad they give us that big kick in the fucking ass (gently, with love) that we need^^

@lala: If anyone has constructive criticism or suggestions about the podcast, I’m more than happy to listen and make adjustments accordingly. If there are any “haters”, on netphoria or elsewhere, who make comments somewhere besides the comments here or the Contact Us submission form linked at the top of the page then there is a 99% chance I will never see them and a 1% chance that I will disregard them as someone having a bad day and needing to let off steam while hiding behind their online anonymity.
